Young Artists
I think it's pretty amazing when a child is talented with art at a very young age. I discovered this article about this child painting a dragon... even though it's actually his uncle that painted the picture, the 4 year old made a drawing of the dragon, over on the left, and his uncle painted his version of it. At first I thought this was a child prodigy article, but it's still cute none the less.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) --
He's not even in kindergarten yet, but four-year-old Logan Pierson's
artwork is already at the center of an art exhibit in Charleston. His artwork was on display during Charleston's annual FestivALL. Logan
says his artwork actually started as an experiment for his uncle Jeff
who has been an artist and illustrator in Charleston for the past 10
years. We're told
Logan just used a little imagination and some crayons to create the
dragon named Reasy. Then, his uncle Jeff Pierson used acrylic and water
color to transform Reasy into something eye catching. Logan's family says he's always had an imagination even at an early age, but he's also very critical of his work. The dragon is the first art piece Jeff and Logan have collaborated on, but Jeff says the duo plan to do more.
There are several child prodigy painters that are just absolutely amazing. I remember first seeing Alexandra Nechita back in the mid 90's at her brilliant cubist style paintings. The paintings are HUGE! She was 10 years old and had already sold millions of dollars worth of her art.
I came across this young artist today. His name is Josh Johnson and he just started painting a year ago? Wow. In just a year, his paintings look like they were made by a master. Pretty incredible.
And this child, Freddie Linsky. I'm not really sure to call him a "prodigy" but just a child artist. He's already got shows and his work is sold and shown online? Thoughts?
Here is a painting that my 4 year old, at the time, nephew made. Definitely on the same level as Marla Olmstead, but Noah doesn't have the exposure and marketing like that little girl does... Noah was so proud of this painting!!

Children are surprisingly fresh and imaginative before they learn otherwise.
